WINDOW BOY WOULD ALSO LIKE TO HAVE A SUBMARINE supported by NFF+HBF

The feature Window Boy would also like to have a Submarine by Alex Piperno is selected for the Netherlands Film Fund and Hubert Bals Fund Coproduction Scheme (NFF+HBF).

Aboard a cruise ship that coasts through Southern Latin America, a young sailor discovers a hallway that mysteriously leads to an apartment in Montevideo. Meanwhile, thousands of kilometres away, near a small rural village in Philippines, a group of peasants find an old abandoned shed in the expanse of a valley, assigning it supernatural powers.

It is Alex Pipernos feature debut, who previously was selected for the Critics Week of Cannes in 2011 with his short film  The inviolability of the domicile is based on the man who appears wielding an ax at the door of his house.

The film is a production of La pobladora cine from Uruguay in co-production with Salta una Rana (Argentina), Desvia (Brasil) and BALDR Film (The Netherlands). The project previously received development support by Hubert Bals Fund and was selected to the Buenos Aires Lab and Berlinale Scriptstation. It was also presented at the co-production market of San Sebastián.

NFF+HBF (previously HBF Plus) is a collaboration between the Netherlands Film Fund and the Hubert Bals Fund. The NFF+HBF program offers support twice a year.  In order to stimulate the involvement of Dutch producers in international co-productions, and to support Hubert Bals Fund projects in the stage of production, the Netherlands Film Fund and the HBF have set up NFF+HBF Netherlands Film Fund – Hubert Bals Fund Co-production Scheme.
